What Drives the Price in Las Vegas

System size: set by your annual use, which the estimate reads off your bills.
Roof: tile is the most common valley roof, and mounting on tile costs more than on shingle.
Battery: adds roughly the battery’s cost; worth pricing if outages or evening use matter to you.
Panel: older homes sometimes need an electrical panel upgrade, shown as its own line.
Upload your NV Energy bills. The estimate reads your yearly use off the bills and sizes the system to it, instead of guessing from the size of the house.

Before You Sign

Four permit offices cover the valley: Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas. Your contractor pulls the permit; HVAC change-outs, water heaters, repipes, panel changes, solar, pools and patio covers all need one. Like-for-like shingle re-roofs and window replacements generally do not.
Nevada gives you three business days to cancel a door-to-door sale (NRS 598.230).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does solar cost in Las Vegas?
About $13,600 to $25,200 for a typical 2,000 sq ft home with a $100 to $200 monthly bill, before any incentive. Permit records across the valley put the typical system near $20,000 and a battery near $12,000.
Is solar growing in Las Vegas?
Yes. The valley permitted about 7,300 residential solar systems a year through 2025 and 2026, and 2026 is running ahead of 2025. Batteries are now on roughly one in six systems.
What does NV Energy pay for the power I send back?
NV Energy credits exported power under its net-metering tiers; the rate depends on when your system is approved, so the estimate asks for your bill and sizes the system to it.
Do I need a permit for solar in Las Vegas?
Yes, an electrical/solar building permit from your jurisdiction, plus NV Energy’s interconnection approval. Panel upgrades are often required on older homes and show up as a separate line in the estimate.
Does solar make sense on a tile roof?
Yes, and it is the most common roof in the valley. Mounting on tile costs more than on shingle because tiles are lifted and replaced around each foot, which the estimate includes.
